The Constitution of the Matriarchy

We, the women of the world.

In order to end the patriarchy and build what replaces it, to lead with care and count with honesty, and to leave our daughters and our sons a better world than the one we were handed, we establish this Constitution of the Matriarchy.

It is written as we go, ratified by every woman who signs, and enforced by all of us.

Article I ยท Step 1

The revolution is sparked.

  1. ยง1

Women are more than capable, coordinated, and ready to take down the patriarchy.

  2. ยง2

Capable. Women already run households, hospitals, classrooms, companies and countries, and have done it with less pay, less credit and less help.

  3. ยง3

Coordinated. What women never had was one channel to move together. Now every woman with a phone can join the same network in under a minute.

  4. ยง4

Ready. The first order is simple: spread, fast. At least one of us in every area code in the United States. That network is the foundation everything after it stands on.

Every unlit area on the map is still open. Bring someone in from one.

Article II

What we inherited.

  1. ยง1

For most of recorded history, power passed from father to son: land, names, thrones and votes. The record is recent and it is plain.

  2. ยง2

1920. American women win the right to vote, 144 years after the country was founded.

  3. ยง3

1974. American women can finally get credit in their own name without a man to co-sign.

  4. ยง4

Today. Women hold about one in four seats in the world's parliaments.

  5. ยง5

Today. About one in ten Fortune 500 companies is run by a woman.

  6. ยง6

Today. The United States has never had a woman president.

None of this was an accident. It was designed, and what is designed can be redesigned.

Article III

Proof it works.

  1. ยง1

Iceland, 1975. Ninety percent of women walked off the job for one day. Offices, schools and factories stalled. Five years later Iceland elected Vigdรญs Finnbogadรณttir, the world's first democratically elected woman president.

  2. ยง2

Finland, 2019. All five parties in the governing coalition were led by women, four of them under 35. Finland keeps being named the happiest country on Earth.

  3. ยง3

Rwanda, since 2008. Women have held a majority of seats in parliament, the highest share of any country on Earth.

It works on a small scale. Now we scale it.

Article IV

Why now.

  1. ยง1

There has never been a successful global matriarchy in the history of humankind. Until now. Every piece is finally in place:

  • The anger at the patriarchy.
  • The desire for fast change.
  • The intelligence to mastermind the plan.
  • The technology to connect the sisterhood.
  • The will to follow through.
